‘Super Withdrawal’
Australian Institute of Superannuation Trustees
With a number of Australian super changes being discussed at federal level, AIST wanted to create a series of videos to inform the public what this would mean for them.
How do you visualise an abstract concept like superannuation? Money in piggy banks is a literal answer but doesn’t take advantage of animations’ full potential. The solution had to make conceptual sense, and be easy to understand.
By using the visual metaphor of a tree that’s tended to, or not, over the years we were able to explore the effects on how much ‘fruit’ you end up with at the end. We were also able to introduce subtle references, like salmon vs baked beans, houses vs units and Porches vs bicycles in the background to further support the voiceover, and create visual interest.

“It has been an absolute pleasure working with Paperboy on a number of animation projects. Their ability to transpose our ideas into creative concepts has been exceptional. They are responsive and adhere to agreed timelines. We are extremely satisfied with the quality of his work and would absolutely use his services again.”
